This chapter explores the different stages of project management, from the initial idea to project closure.

Objectives :

  • Understand the basics of project management : transforming ideas into successful projects, using brainstorming, managing stakeholders, forming effective teams, and following the project life cycle.
  • Laying the groundwork: conducting feasibility studies, writing the project charter, identifying needs, mapping stakeholders, and leading the kick-off meeting.
  • Write specifications, define project scope, plan using PERT and GANTT charts, manage budgets, handle risks, and prepare a communication plan.
  • Implement strategies, set SMART objectives, understand the roles of steering committees and stakeholders, and identify difficulties during implementation.
  • Receive deliverables, analyze lessons learned, write project evaluations, conduct closure meetings, and follow post-project steps.
